On May 29, Dr. Fujita Akiko, director of the Food Research Office of the Satake Corporation of Japanvisited our university.
Vice president Hui Zhao cordially met with two Japanes guests and presented the appointment certificate of “Guest Professor of the College of Agronomy and Resources and Environment of Tianjin Agricultural University” on behalf of the university. HuiZhao pointed out that Tianjin is implementing therevitalization project of XiaozhanRice, which is to lead the rice research and industrial development in the country and further build the Tianjin rice brand. China and Japan have been collaborating on rice taste for 20 years, and Japan has accumulated rich experience in rice taste research. By appointing Dr. Fujita as a guest professor, Hui Zhao hoped the younger generation of Chinese and Japanese youths strengthen the cooperation on the basis of the original cooperation, and introduce the latest Japanese technology and more original research results. HuiZhao hoped that while the two sides carry out cooperative research, the rice-tasting team has the responsibility to do well in the promotionof rice taste. Dr. Fujita's research direction is the study of rice aroma components. She expressed her willingness to conduct in-depth cooperation research on the relationship between fragrant rice aroma and taste in the future in order to contribute to the revitalization of Tianjin Xiaozhan Rice. Tianjin Agricultural University is undertaking the formulation of local standards for Tianjin Xiaozhan rice taste quality evaluation. The cooperation between Chinese and Japanese experts will complete a unique local standard for Xiaozhan Rice.
Dr. Fujita Akiko and Dr. Kazuo Nono gave wonderful reportsrespectively on “The Quality Evaluation System and Safe and Assured Analysis and Evaluation Technology for Japanese rice” and “Industry Development Model of Japanese Rice ”. During the period, they had extensive exchanges with the present teachers and students.
