On Apr. 4, a delegation headed by Mia Eckhout, professor of Biological Engineering College, Ghent University

paid a visit to TJAU. Xu Ying,vice-president of TJAU, Zhu Hong, director of overseas returnees office of

Tianjin Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs had a cordial meeting withNidhal Bouazizi.

During the meeting, Xu Ying expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to Mia Eckhout and his

delegation and gave adetailed introduction to the development history, subject advantages, andfaculty strength

of TJAU. Zhu Hong introduced the related policies of Tianjinin attracting talents. Prof. Liu Jinfu, Dean of Food

Science and Biological Engineering College, and Professor Mia Eckhout respectively introducedthe teaching,

research, discipline advantages, and faculty strengths of TJAUand Ghent University

 

After the meeting, Prof. Mia Eckhout visitedthe International Joint Research Center for Rice Science and    

 

Technology Innovation and Achievement Transformation, the International Joint ResearchCenter for

Agricultural Animal Breeding and Product Testing Biotechnology, andthe Tianjin Agricultural and Sideline

Products Deep Processing TechnologyEngineering Center.

Later, Prof. He Xinyi and Dr. Liu Shanna from FoodScience and Biological Engineering College, Professor Mia

Eckhou from GhentUniversity, Prof. Raes Katleen, and Prof. Filip Van Bockstaele gave excellentacademic

reports to teachers and students from Food Science and BiologicalEngineering College. Anthierens Katleen

Auguste, head of International AdmissionCommittee of Ghent University, gave a detailed introduction to the

university’s admission policies, curriculum and scholarships, which provided an opportunityfor students

interested in studying abroad.

 

Representatives from relevant departments such asInternational Office, Personnel Department, Science and

Technology Department,and Food Science and Biological Engineering College attended the meeting.
