From December 18th to 22nd, President Wang Yanwen led a team to visit Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Thailand, and attended the inauguration ceremony of the "Shennong Institute"jointly established by RMUTT and our university. The leaders from Chinese Ministry of Education, Thai Ministry of Education, Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and Thai Embassy in China attended the ceremony.
Wang Yanwen delivered a speech at the ceremony. He pointed out that the establishment of "Shennong Institute" is an important milestone in the development history of the two universities, marking a new stage of the educational cooperation between China and Thailand, which is not only conducive to promoting the development of teaching and scientific research of the two universities,but also conducive to the cooperation between China and Thailand and even southeast Asia.Wang Yanwen said that the two sides will take the ceremony as a new starting point.Under the leadership of the Chinese and Thai governments, the two sides will jointly build the "Shennong Institute" into a demonstration in running schools.
The name of "Shennong Institute" was taken from the ancestor of farming civilization in ancient China, namely Emperor Yan, embodying the original intention of the two sides to serve the agriculture, rural areas and farmers. "Shennong Institute" aims to introduce the modern urban agricultural talent training system and scientific research innovation system of our university into Thailand in accordance with the needs and actual conditions of Thai agriculture, and train modern agricultural professionals who meet the needs of Thailand and the ASEAN countries around Thailand. After the completion of the "Shennong Institute", the two sides will start the first batch of enrollment in aquaculture, animal science, food science and engineering.
Heads of relevant departments such as the International Office, the Fisheries College , College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, and College of Food Science and Biology Engineering accompanied the delegation.
