Professor Jiang Jiming from Michigan State University in the United States was invited to our school's "Tian Nong Famous Lecture Hall"

On June 1st, Professor Jiang Jiming from Michigan State University in the United States was invited to our school's "Tiannong Famous Lecture Hall" and gave an academic report titled "Biotechnological Approaches to Solving the Potato Acrylamide Problem". Professor Jin Weiwei, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice President (in charge of work), presided over the report meeting.

 

In the report "Biotechnological Approaches to Solve the Acrylamide Problem in Potato", Professor Jiang Jiming described in detail the problems puzzling the potato processing quality in the world from several aspects, such as the world crop yield and existing problems, the low-temperature storage saccharification of potatoes and its impact on processing quality, the acrylamide content in fried potato food, and the quality control of potato processing, The key genes that regulate the reducing sugar content of potatoes were identified and molecular modifications were carried out on different varieties. The acrylamide content of the modified potatoes was significantly reduced after frying. Accurate design was carried out on how to solve low-temperature saccharification and improve processing quality in molecular breeding, highlighting the hotspots and difficulties in related research.

After the lecture, Professor Jiang Jiming patiently and meticulously answered the students' questions, and he fully affirmed their spirit of seeking knowledge and exploration. The attending teachers and students expressed that the report of this conference is both informative and interesting, and has benefited greatly.
