Recently, the School of Animal Science and Animal Medicine held a class opening ceremony for international students at the 2021 "Shennong Institute". Fang Jie, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office (in charge of work), Ding Xiangbin, Dean of the School of Animal Science and Animal Medicine, Wang Xuebei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Dr. Pu Lei, homeroom teacher, Professor Zhang Xuewei, teacher representative, and all Thai international students participated in this event.
In 2019, our school collaborated with Royal Polytechnic University of Tayaburi in Thailand to establish the "Shennong Institute", which adopted a "2+1+1" form to jointly cultivate Thai international students. This year is the first batch of international students coming to China, and the first batch of 13 new students will complete a one-year joint training at our school.
Fang Jie expressed her sincere welcome to the arrival of foreign students. She said that our school, through joint education, vigorously promoted talent cultivation and international cooperation, and actively promoted the implementation of the "the Belt and Road" policy, which has well promoted the development of China Thailand modern agricultural education. She hoped that both sides would continue to strengthen cooperation at the level of students, teachers and schools, carry out in-depth and pragmatic exchanges, and help the two schools develop together. Ding Xiangbin warmly welcomes the international students at Royal Polytechnic University of Tayaburi, hoping that they will cherish the opportunity to study and integrate into the study and life of Tianjin Agricultural University as soon as possible. Adhering to the motto of Tianjin Agricultural University of "being quick to learn, eager to ask, diligent in farming", they will strive to learn Chinese culture and professional knowledge, become ambassadors of cultural exchange between China and Thailand, and promote the internationalization of the education system between China and Thailand. Wang Xuebei welcomed the arrival of foreign students and introduced the relevant situation of the college's student management. The joint education has helped the internationalization of higher education in the two countries, played a positive role in promoting the talent cultivation of the "the Belt and Road", and hoped that students would achieve success, be healthy and happy in school. Dr. Pu Lei introduced the basic situation of the School of Animal Science and Animal Medicine, the historical evolution and professional development of each major, demonstrated the strong faculty and good experimental conditions of cooperative education, and introduced the follow-up work of international students from the perspective of class teachers. Professor Zhang Xuewei stated that China and Thailand are connected by mountains and rivers, have close cultural ties, and have a long history of friendship. The establishment of a joint educational relationship between China and Thailand is the result of our joint efforts. We hope that the two universities can achieve better results in their future international student training work.
In the self introduction section for Thai international students, the students provided a detailed introduction of their personal situation and expressed their excitement and gratitude for coming to the school to cooperate and cultivate. The teacher representative provided a detailed introduction to the curriculum and its implementation. At the end of the meeting, the teacher representative awarded the Tianjin Agricultural University emblem and presented souvenirs to Thai international students.
This year, Thai international students came to the school for the first time to carry out joint training, which is a good start. In the future, the School of Animal Science and Animal Medicine will seriously do a good job in student training, actively promote the development of international student programs in both countries, and make positive contributions to talent cultivation in China and Thailand.
