On December 12th, Professor YEONG YIK SUNG from Tengjialou University in Malaysia was invited to our school's "Tian Nong Famous Lecture Hall". Before the report meeting, Zhang Min, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice President, warmly received Professor YEONG YIK SUNG.

During the talks, both sides agreed to further expand innovation on the basis of previous cooperation, explore the possibility of jointly cultivating graduate students and applying for the "the Belt and Road" scientific research projects in education, scientific research and other aspects, and carry out diversified cooperation starting from the signing of the cooperation agreement (MOU) between the two universities, so as to make due contributions to promoting bilateral educational cooperation and people to people and cultural exchanges.

Professor YEONG YIK SUNG delivered a report titled "Three pathways of heat shock proteins in enhancing stress and disease tolerance in aquatic organisms", chaired by Researcher Xie Xiaodong from the School of Agriculture and Resources Environment. Professor YEONG YIK SUNG introduced his progress in the study of heat shock proteins (HSPs) in a simple and concise manner, including that heat shock proteins are widely present in various organisms from bacteria to humans, and have important physiological functions in biological activities. For example, the expression of heat shock proteins can improve the proliferation and differentiation of aquatic cells, as well as immune response, thereby enhancing disease tolerance; Studying the inducible factors of heat shock protein 70, it was found that the extract of Rhodiola leaves can induce the accumulation of heat shock protein 70 in the body of South American white shrimp, thereby improving stress resistance; Knockout heat shock proteins through RNA interference technology to further validate their function.
At the report meeting, Professor YEONG YIK SUNG patiently and meticulously answered the questions raised by teachers and students, and provided prospects for the future direction of academic development. This report provides useful assistance in broadening the scientific research perspectives of teachers and students, enhancing their problem-solving and discovery methods, and the attending teachers and students have benefited greatly.
