On November 4th, a delegation from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, University of Maryland East Coast, University of Wisconsin O'Claire, and China Education International Education Exchange Center visited our university. President of the university, Jin Weiwei attended the meeting.
The delegation first visited the school history museum and, after a detailed understanding of our school's development history, educational characteristics, and significant achievements in teaching, research, and other aspects, expressed high appreciation for our school's profound cultural heritage and distinctive educational features.
Subsequently, both parties had a discussion in the conference room of Minxue Building. Our school warmly welcomes the delegation of presidents from provincial and state universities in China and the United States, and expresses our desire to actively implement the "China-U.S. Provincial/State University Training Program" project, hoping to use this as an opportunity to promote student exchanges. The delegation expresses gratitude for the support provided by our university for the "China-U.S. Provincial/State University Training Program" , which has become one of the largest cooperation projects in higher education between China and the United States. It has made positive explorations and contributions in promoting mutual recognition of credits and degrees between Chinese and American universities, opening up new avenues for Chinese students to study in the United States, and jointly cultivating international talents for Chinese and American universities.
At the meeting, various universities in the United States gave detailed introductions on their basic situation, disciplinary advantages, research directions, etc. They all expressed that they share common research directions with our university in many fields, and look forward to enhancing mutual understanding, substantive cooperation in the future, and deepening cultural and educational exchanges between China and the United States. Our school's various colleges have introduced their disciplines, teaching resources, and research achievements, emphasizing that providing high-quality educational resources and good guarantees for students' learning and life is the school's consistent pursuit. We hope to explore more open, inclusive, mutually beneficial and shared forms of cooperation, share the wisdom and solutions of Sino American education cooperation, and jointly explore the mission and future of higher education. Next, both sides had in-depth exchanges on the details of cooperation in the 121 project of talent cultivation between China and the United States, and have consistently stated that student exchanges will be the starting point to comprehensively strengthen exchanges and cooperation in teaching, scientific research, and other aspects.
Our school joined the "China-U.S. Provincial/State University Training Program" in April 2024. This visit lays the foundation for promoting the implementation of the 121 project. Our school will continue to maintain close contact, promote substantial progress in cooperation matters, and continuously improve the internationalization level of our school through solid actions.
Officials and relevant teachers from the International Office, College of Agriculture and Resources Environment, College of Aquaculture, College of Economics and Management, College of Engineering and Technology, College of Computer and Information Engineering,College of Hydraulic Engineering, and College of Basic Sciences attended the meeting.
