On March 14th, Dr. Zhang Chunsheng, representative of Northwest Missouri State University and former vice president of the University of North Alabama, visited Tianjin Agricultural University. Officials from the International Office, college of Agriculture and Resources Environment, college of Economics and Management, college of Computer and Information Engineering, and college of Humanities of our university attended the meeting to discuss future cooperation and student exchange plans between Tianjin Agricultural University and Northwest Missouri State University.

At the meeting, the responsible comrade of the International Office welcomed Dr. Zhang Chunsheng's visit and introduced the historical evolution of our university, the relevant situation of international exchange work, and the next step of work plan. We hope to actively expand cooperation with Northwest Missouri State University in agriculture, management, engineering, literature and other related disciplines and majors based on this meeting.
Dr. Zhang Chunsheng briefly introduced the overview, advantageous disciplines, major offerings, and campus environment of Northwest Missouri State University in the United States. Northwest Missouri State University was founded in 1905. The university has 11 departments and over 200 degree programs, with more than 120 undergraduate and graduate majors. It has abundant teaching resources and profound academic background in the field of agriculture, offering multiple agricultural science related majors such as agricultural science, agricultural economics, and agricultural data and information systems.
Both parties had in-depth discussions and exchanges on issues such as student training models, educational systems, courses, and planned cooperation projects, and initially reached a cooperation plan for student exchanges in majors such as agriculture, agricultural economic management, data science and big data, and English.
In recent years, our university has attached great importance to exchanges and cooperation with American universities, joined the "1+2+1" talent training program between China and the United States, and signed a cooperation project agreement for agricultural engineering with the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Next, our university will continue to actively expand exchanges and cooperation with universities in related fields in the United States, focusing on cultivating new talents who are knowledgeable about agriculture and love agriculture to adapt to the development of the times and the requirements of education opening up to the outside world, and contributing the "Tiannong Power" to promote cultural exchanges between China and the United States.
