On the afternoon of September 20th, the opening ceremony for the 2024 freshmen of Shennong institute was held in the conference room on the first floor of Minxue Building. Vice Secretary of the School Party Committee and President Jin Weiwei attended the ceremony.
Jin Weiwei delivered a bilingual speech in both Chinese and English. He first warmly welcomed and sincerely congratulated all the new students, and emphasized that in the context of globalization, internationalization of education is the trend. "Shennong institute" is committed to cultivating high-quality talents with international vision, innovative spirit, and in line with the development of modern agriculture. The arrival of Thai international students has added new vitality to the Tiannong campus. We look forward to all international students not only achieving academic success, but also becoming ambassadors of China Thailand friendship. In response to the upcoming journey of international students studying in China, he put forward four hopes: firstly, he hopes to devote himself to the upcoming learning and life with more enthusiasm and firm beliefs; Secondly, we hope to make friends from all over the world, learn together, and make progress together; Thirdly, we hope to fully enjoy the high-quality educational resources and advanced educational concepts of China and Thailand, and open up a new learning mode; The fourth is to develop a good plan for university and even life, take solid steps, and fully demonstrate one's talents and courage.
Professor Pu Lei from the College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine of our university spoke as a teacher representative. She stated that China and Thailand are connected by mountains and rivers, with close cultural ties and a long-standing friendship. Building a community with a shared future between China and Thailand is our common goal and vision. And we urge Thai students to cherish the opportunity to study, actively learn and understand Chinese culture, make more friends with Chinese students, and be able to bring Chinese culture to Thailand when they return home after completing their studies, becoming ambassadors for cultural exchange between China and Thailand, and promoting the international development of the education system between China and Thailand. Jie Hongmei, a 2022 student representative from the College of Food Science and Bioengineering, expressed her deep welcome and blessings to the Thai students. She also mentioned that being able to study and live in the same class with Thai international students in the future will be a precious time to deepen friendship, learn from each other, and grow together. Chinese students will use their utmost enthusiasm to help international students adapt to the new environment and work together on the path of pursuing their dreams, making progress together.
Srisamut Anusit, majoring in Food Science, and Rerkdee Sutipat, majoring in Animal Science, as senior students of Shennong institute, extend deep blessings and encouragement to the 2024 freshmen. They particularly express to the Thai freshmen that "Shennong institute" is a very valuable program that not only allows them to deeply learn advanced agricultural technology, but also to feel the charm of Chinese culture. They have spent a fulfilling and wonderful year at Tianjin Agricultural College. I hope new students can cherish their learning time here, make more friends with Chinese students, and harvest precious friendships and beautiful memories. Natnaree Noisawang, the representative of the 2024 freshmen at Tianjin Agricultural College, expressed her excitement and gratitude for coming to Tianjin Agricultural College. She expressed that she will cherish learning opportunities even more in the future, strive to achieve excellent results, and also look forward to building deep friendships with Chinese classmates, spending unforgettable time together, and serving as a bridge for the construction of China Thailand friendship.
Finally, the teachers put on the emblem of Tianjin Agricultural College for each Thai international student and presented opening gifts carrying the school's best wishes and earnest expectations for the new students. Amidst warm applause and laughter, the opening ceremony of the 2024 cohort at Shennong institute came to a successful conclusion, marking the official start of Thai students' learning journey at Tianjin Agricultural College.
